Thankful

I am thankful for so many things...even when faced with "challenges" along the way.

As part of my contest, I will award points for anyone who names one person they are thankful for this year and why.

I'm going to name a few that top my list with a brief story about each one...

1. "Papa Bear" (obviously not his real name) - because he has always been supportive of me personally and professionally (and treats my family as part of his own)

2. Jill - because she gave an unknown knitter a chance to knit outside her comfort zone (and I found that I liked it)

3. Alyssa - because it's so much fun to have a fellow knitter so close at hand Monday through Friday (and I constantly realize how much we have in common despite the difference in our ages)

4. Erin - because she is just as sarcastic as me...which makes her a perfect match for me at work

Obviously, I am thankful for my family (especially my daughter Casey who continues to grow up quickly even when I tell her not to!)

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend!

Karen

I am grateful to so many people:

My mother who is 93 and still doing well although a bit forgetful now.

My daughter who makes me so proud of her.

My husband who is there when I need him even though he isn't always as vocal about his support as I might like.

My friend Adriana who is struggling with breast cancer and always has a positive and fighting attitude.

And lots of other friends.

I'm thankful for my friend Elaine who has stuck by me through thick and thin since we were students (and tells me about great contests to enter)

I'm thankful for my friend Janet. We've been friends since we were 11 and whenever things are tough, she's there for me.

I am thankful for my friend Anne. She's had a rough year with breast cancer, but has never failed to support me in my own emotional ups and downs. When I start to complain, I realise that I have it good compared to her.

So many of us have had breast cancer, and it's played such a profound role in our lives.

I'm grateful to my friends who helped me through the very dark hours with encouragement and prayer and sometimes even humor, and I'm grateful to still be here fighting.

Well I"m obviously thankful for Carl and his wool tolerance.

I'm thankful for you!! Because you're normal and you knit and you make my work week so much better!!!

I'm thankful for my family and friends because without them I'd just be a very lonely knitter.

See you Monday!

There are quite a few i could name but the one at the top of the list would have to be my husband. He also falls into the best friends category. He always supports me in my decisions through life and all shopping purchases..even when i try and sneak them! He knows me better than myself and watches over me. He makes me blueberry pancakes on sundays and never complains about grocery shopping with me or if i ask him to drive me to work just to spend a few more minutes together. He really is something to be thankful for!

Thanks Karen! That's so sweet. I could tell early on that you would be a great addition to our team.

So I'm thankful to YOU for all you've done for us, and all you will continue to do (spring yarns, spring yarns!) I only wish you lived closer... but if you did, you would most likely not have that great train commute, and then you might not have as much time for knitting!

I'm thankful for all of my great employees who work so hard day in and day out. They have great work ethics, and I am so appreciative of all they do for my business. We have fun and work hard, and that's the key to success...

I'm thankful for my husband who supports my business ventures 150% and who understands that I couldn't be where I am today, without his support... and help with the kids.

I'm thankful for my two girls, who are smart, beautiful, and genuinely kind people. I'm thankful that they know what's right and what's wrong, and that they aren't growing up with the wrong values.

I'm so thankful for my husband, Tom. Even though he lost his job a few weeks ago, he hasn't let it get him down. Instead, he's now organizing the house, cleaning, cooking, and creating intimate little dinners for the two of us. He's looking for a new job, too, at the age of 62 in an economy that isn't particularly well-suited for such pursuits.

My sisters are my best friends. I can never say enough about their support, love, and friendship.

I'm thankful that my parents are healthy and relatively sane in spite of trying to set up two new computers and a wireless network, but I do wish they'd just hire someone else to do it!

I am thankful for my friend Teec who can cheer me up with the simplest of conversations, and is a dear to talk to.
I am thankful for my friend Sarah who I can just think about and smile. I love her ways and great inspiration.
I am thankful for my husband, who loves me for who I am - no matter how crazy, silly or out of sorts!

Whoa - I am LATE catching up on your blogs!!! But I am, OF COURSE, so thankful for you and your ever-so-convenient positioning next to me. Work is so much more fun with someone you can be snarky and laugh with!

I'm also thankful for my sister. For various reasons.
